The Missouri State Science Olympiad Tournament is the pinnacle of Science Olympiad competition featuring the top teams from each of Missouri's eight regions.

Sixty four teams are invited to the state tournament each year for a day of fun and exciting competition. From the first minute of the opening ceremony to the last second of the awards presentation, teams can be assured of a day like no other. In addition to the opportunity to become a state champion in their event, students on the top team in each division will earn the chance to advance to the next level of competition.

The first place teams in each division will qualify to represent Missouri in the Science Olympiad National Tournament. If the number of registrations in Missouri places us in the top ten nationwide in a division, we may be afforded the opportunity to send a second team to the national competition from that division.

Planning Your Trip to State

State Qualifying teams will put in a lot of time preparing for the competition.  Most schools attending the state tournament will be traveling by bus and spending the night. Working with the local chamber of commerce we are able to provide some suggestions and recommendations to visiting teams.
