Science Olympiad is the nation's premier STEM competition with over 6600 teams in all 50 states. In Missouri, over 160 teams participated in Science Olympiad during the 2024-2025 season
The Ohio Science Olympiad is offering free virtual training sessions for new and returning coaches! These free sessions are open to coaches in Missouri. If you are interested, please email Greg Spiegel, the Missouri State director for information and registration information.
The 2026 Science Olympiad state tournament will be held on April 18, 2026 on the campus of the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg

Greg got his start in Science Olympiad as a grad assistant at the University of South Dakota where he helped Dr. Paul Otto run the South Dakota State Science Olympiad Tournament. After leaving South Dakota, Greg coached Science Olympiad at Plattsburg, Oak Park, and Staley High Schools. Besides coaching, Greg was the director for region 3 and state tournament director.
